Biography

Prof. Dr. Ioannis Fourmousis

Professor of Periodontology, University of Athens, Greece
In 1982 was graduated as Dental Technician at the Athens Technical Institute. In
1987 was graduated as a dentist at the University of Athens. 1990-93 Prof. Ioannis
has attended the postgraduate program in “Periodontology, Implantology and Fixed
Prosthodontics” at the University of Bern, Switzerland. In 1993 received the title
“Dr.med dent” from Bern University, Switzerland.
1994 – 96 Prof. Ioannis has worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of
Periodontology, Implantology and Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Bern,
Switzerland. 1994 – 2001 has worked as a Clinical Instructor at the Department of
Periodontology at the University of Athens, Greece. 1996-98 Research Scientist,
Department of Periodontology, Implantology and Fixed Prosthodontics, University of
Bern, Switzerland.
During the period 2001- 2006 has worked as pedagogue of Periodontology at the
Department of Periodontology at the University of Athens. 2006-2011 Assistant
Professor of Periodontology at the Department of Periodontology at the University of
Athens. Since 2011 he is actually Professor of Periodontology, in the Department of
Periodontology at the University of Athens. Since 1994 Prof. Ioannis, actually
practices the profession at the private clinic, “Dental Excellence” in Athens Greece
www.dentalexcellence.gr. Since 1990 he has published more than 85 scientific
articles, 27 of them in international journals. Lecturer in more than 500 national and
international events.
